SV Academy has a 17-year track record in youth programmes, and the right candidate will be supported with a wealth of experience, but will have the scope to make the role their own and become an integral part of organisation as it grows and evolves.
This is a new role in a fast paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial organisation with a strong social mission. Working directly with the Programme Director, we are looking for someone to build the development and delivery of a range of innovative new projects including an adult community skills programme, a creative learning project that aims to divert young people from crime, gangs and knives and an inspiring overseas trip to the Caribbean for disadvantaged young people.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate the delivery of our programmes in schools and in after school community sessions within Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding areas.
• Manage existing - and develop new - partnerships with schools, local authorities, statutory services such as youth offending services and police and other local community organisations within Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding areas.
• Coordinate our mentoring team to mentor young people at risk of being involved in gangs and criminal activities.
• Train, empower and manage youth mentors to effectively deliver community and school sessions to disengaged young people.
• Develop and execute a social media strategy to engage target communities, promote our programme and celebrate its successes.
• Track the progress of each participant and develop reports and case studies where necessary for internal management and to share with local authorities, funders and other partners.
• Monitor the quality of delivery across multiple projects, courses and programmes.
• Identify safeguarding concerns or potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies • Input into research, evaluation and monitoring of programmes, supporting audits and inspections as required.
• Certificate of Higher Education in arts admin, management/business, or project management.
• Diploma/Degree in relevant subject.
• Other project management, admin/arts management or business qualification. Experience and knowledge Relevant experience
• Minimum of 2 years project delivery experience in a similar role (charity, business, arts, community or education).
• Previous experience of working in a team within a business or project delivery team in a busy office environment.
• Accurate data input, utilising databases, spreadsheets and/or other management systems.
• Proficiency in leveraging social media to support, publicise and recruit for arts, youth and community projects.
• Customer service. Skills and personal characteristics • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Approachable, patient and mild-mannered, especially in relation to customer service.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office/Mac and data entry. • Excellent numeracy skills.
• An ability to self-organise, balancing conflicting demands and prioritise workload effectively.
• Ability to be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. • An all-round excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work productively within a team and build positive internal and external relationships.
• Adaptability, as the post may require some Saturday sessions.
• An enthusiasm for the arts, education, youth issues or music education.
• A commitment to your own Continuing Professional Development, including being open to new ideas, training and ways of working.
